The last time you were tired, did you stop and give your body a rest? Restorative Yoga is just that, a deeply relaxing yoga practice. This four-week Restorative Yoga course will offer a hands-on exploration of your own experience of feeling each pose in your body thus providing a foundation for offering Restorative Yoga to others.

During this course, we will cover a brief history of RY, the principles and benefits of RY, review how to prepare the body and mind for stillness, and how to safely support the body in each pose. The use of props to effectively and efficiently build each pose base will be discussed. Each week, a breath practice will be offered, and specific Restorative Yoga poses will be demonstrated.  Join Pennee on this journey to discover the deeply nourishing and rejuvenating practice of RY.

All live events are videotaped. You can catch them live or on replay, then review them as often as you like. You. can start this course at any time and watch the replays of missed classes.

Pennee barresi

Pennee Barresi - I completed my RYT 200-hour teaching certificate through Yoga Farm Ithaca in May 2017, and then in June 2018, I graduated from a 30-hour Restorative Yoga training at Kripalu with Judith Hanson Lasater.

  • I teach meditative, gentle flow classes and Restorative Yoga class at Yoga Farm Ithaca.

    Now retired, I served in public education for 30 years as a School Psychologist. During that time, I began my exploration into the many benefits of Mindfulness as an extension of my own mediation practice.

    My “WHY”: Through my yoga practice, I have come to recognize how the quality of my life can change when I respond from love rather than react from fear. Discovering that yoga is really not so much about self-improvement, rather it is about a radical self-acceptance with fierce compassionate, opened me to my own self-love. It is a honor for me to offer support to others on their journey.

    My Conviction: Loving yourself with all your heart, will allow you to truly love all sentient beings on this Earth. Yoga is that path.
