Social JUSTICE Studies

A 6 month online course led by Jeannie O’Neill
What your high school failed to teach you

January - June 2nd and 4th Tuesdays
from 7-8:30pm EST

In this course we will unpack the guise of toxic feminism, which stays committed to comfort, personal reward, and keeping things “on brand.”

If you are ready to unlearn the lies you have been told and be open to how to engage in action this is the course for you. You will be able to walk the walk of unity and engage in action that supports your new knowledge that no one is free when others are oppressed. Your freedom depends on the freedom of everyone else.

For those of you who have the great honor of parenting others, this course is a fantastic way to heal and unlearn whatever is unreconciled within you in regard to race, power, and privilege so that you do not unconsciously pass harmful beliefs on to your children.

? Are you a white woman, who is a part of a yoga community, a lightworker, or wellness advocate, and feel confused, surprised and saddened by the current state of this nation?

? Would you like to understand HOW we got to this place, and what you can do about it? Have you experienced embarrassment, admitting what you don’t know about US History, Government, privilege and racism?

? Do you struggle with understanding our “oneness” while we are so clearly divided?

This has created a disempowered attitude, so in this class we will unpack how we can be feminine and empowered, how we do not have to be “nice” and how to speak up responsibly against injustice. White Femininity has also been weaponized by patriarchal society for EXAMPLE, look up the story of Emmitt Till. It is our time to reclaim our voices and to stop using our femininity as a scapegoat, whether conscious or unconscious

Let Jeannie be the history teacher you never had.

Jeannie O’neill

Jeannie O’Neill, M.Ed. 500E-RYT; a former Social Studies teacher who spent many years teaching the untold perspectives of US History and Government through the non-dominant narrative.

  •  Her undergraduate studies included assisting her Professors in compiling research on Race, Social Class and power dynamics in the US following the Civil War, particularly in states that were historically abolitionist. Her undergraduate research was on how White Feminist narratives often contributed to the structural and systemic racism in the US, as well as in the British Empire. Jeannie was inspired by her Social Studies teachers who managed to infuse this nondominant narrative into their curricula; from 6th through 12th grade these incredible educators provided the foundation for a lifelong commitment to teaching outside the box.
