Private Yoga Instruction

Transform your life: learn to sustain joy, experience freedom in your mind, leave addictions behind and experience lightness of being.

The science of yoga is capable of bringing lasting transformation, helping you live up to your true potential. Historically, yoga was taught 1-on-1 . Only recently did yoga start being taught as group fitness classes. If you are ready to dive deep and practice the path of peace, of freedom, of joy, our individual programs may be for you. One of our offerings is the ‘Sweet Silence 12-week program. (This program has limited enrollment – only 2 spots available at this time)

With our caring support, you can learn yoga practices that can meet your needs, support your body, mind, and spirit, and help you excel in life.  Together we plan a schedule, location, and format customized to meet you where you are.

When we work 1-on-1 (or in a small group with your friends / family), you’ll learn to support your body, mind and heart in a way that best fits your life and goals, in complete privacy and confidentiality.  Our private sessions can be focused on learning yoga, improving your health, or we can offer you private yoga therapy if you are recovering from injury, illness, or a chronic condition such as scoliosis or back pain.

Our ongoing support and coaching will help you be your best, and if you wish, we can create gentle accountability to help you establish discipline around your practice, and allow you to experience first-hand the peace and freedom that can be found inside of steady practice.

In our private work together we will weave a tapestry of yoga, breathwork, meditations, restorations and deep rest from many traditions of yoga.  Gentle yoga is merged with postures to build strength and alignment and practices that increase energy.   Deep rest concludes each session, leaving you alert and ready for the rest of your day. You can ask as many questions as you like as we go along, and even record our sessions for later review and practice.

Here is how our private classes work:

Client testimonials

I began weekly sessions with Christopher two months ago, as a supplement to my usual training routine. With his expert guidance I have already noticed increased flexibility especially the in the back and hips, which has had a positive impact on my golf game and my overall feeling of wellness. His new facility is lovely, spacious and well-equipped. — George A. Hay, Cornell Law School

I recently resumed yoga after many years of not practicing. Starting individual lessons at the Yoga Farm with Christopher has been a great experience. The studios is very peaceful and Christopher is an amazing instructor. I would recommend anyone interested in trying yoga consider the Yoga Farm! — S.C. Ithaca, NY

I did a private 3 lesson series because I wanted special sessions customized just for me.  Chris did a great job of understanding what worked for me and what didn’t, and was patient with explanations.  At the end of my sessions I had learned real tools that I could use in my personal practice that I could have never put together in a group class. — J.V. Ithaca, NY

Christopher, you are a distinctly gifted teacher, able to identify sequences ideal for the individual as well as a group. I recall with fondness your assistance with my arm… in that session you were comfortable and able to hold the space for my discomfort, physically and emotionally with tremendous Grace. You were able to let me be with my tears, with no need to run for Kleenex and the belief of, “oh here, tissues, let’s clean up that mess!” You just let me be where I was, silently, so I could move deeper into it, through it.   – D.H., Ithaca NY

Christopher specially tailored our meditation and mindfulness session according to goals that my husband and I had set but had not moved towards. We wanted to get back into consistent meditation, and Christopher suggested a 28 day meditation challenge. That worked! We are more than half way through the challenge now, and we can see the improvement in our ability to sit together and clear our minds…and cuddle with gratitude. – A.F., Ithaca NY
